Faxian had many different haircuts during his career. He reached fame as a talented explorer, historian, writer and translator. Nevertheless, the Bhikkhu, historian, travelogue author, and Buddhist pilgrim of the Silk Road was mainly known for his special public appearances and his delightful character.
