Rennyo had many different hairstyles during his career. He was widely known as a talented bhikkhu. Nevertheless, the 8th Monshu (head-priest) of the Honganji Temple of the Jōdo Shinshū sect of Buddhism was mostly known for his unique appearances and his likable character. Before his tragic passing at the age of 84 he was again and again talked about in magazines and tabloids due to his fine hairstyles. Check out Rennyo's classic looks in the image box below:
